October 30 is so far off in the future it's almost like it's another era. What's special about October 30th? Well. Funny you should ask.
There's a special band of performers that will be appearing at the Marquee Theater in Tempe. Now, the last time we were in Gilbert, Gary unwittingly agreed (I think he did it on purpose...) to take Christopher to see Fear Factory the next time they came to Arizona. I'm hopeful that Fear Factory adds a Tucson date, as it's a long drive to make when you've had a dozen or so beers go down your gullet - even though I'll sweat out most of it. I'm getting off the subject here, the short and sweet answer is Fear Factory is coming to town. Or close by. Jeri is going to be so excited when she finds out, she's had a crush (I should be jealous) on Burton and Raymond for the last few years now and always talks about what she'll say when she meets them.
The following are unacceptable excuses for not attending the Fear Factory show:

Conceived in a hell beyond your depth of perception. Chaotic case of conquering domination
Psychopath snaps fired chains of imprisonment,
a bludgeoning force that’s undermining the government. I would go if thyey make it to Arizona. Life saving can be put on hold.

It's a date so to speak, pen the 30th on your calendar. I'll keep checking to see if they add Tucson to the trip.

Funny what a man's agrees to do after a six pack and several shots of Patron. But if you say it is so then it must be. Of course Oct. 30 is a Monday and I won't have class until 3:00 in the afternoon. But I think the better option is to say that the destination is Fear Factory when instead a certain little caberet gets our patronage.

Except,
When you tell Ms. Collins "I'm going to see Fear Factory with Joshua", you know there will be "Good, I'll call Chris now" coming at you. And Chris + Cabaret = what?
The "Hey Gary?....hey Gary?...." questions aside. I can hear this upon our return home, "Hey Jeri, Gary and Joshua took me to see strippers." "Hey Jeri, have you ever been in the champagne room?"
Thus beginning the drive back home.
So instead we say, "Joshua and I are going to a cigar tasting forum".
Dammit...I said that in print, well...Jeri's going to be suspicious now.

Joshua I wanted to let you know I have now found another reason for living. XM Radio put the metal station back on. Lots of Fear Factory, Soulfly, Sepultura, and pretty much alot of other metal bands. You should check it out.

Will, when you and the Petersons, et al are over here getting a bit tipsy and scaring Jeri with the way you old wine over the couch, take note of how weepy she gets during Big God/Raped Souls.

I have not listened to any Fear Factory, so in my zeal to round myself out, I dressed in my metal garb and headed to F' n A' music in the crackho, heroinville neighborhood of SLC. Upon entry, I asked the Bmezine model counter help where I might find Fear Factory. I was rather shocked when he slapped me on the face. Not one to be slapped, a fight followed. A truce was called, the fight was over, the floor was covered with blood. As we licked up the blood, he told me that I was shopping in the wrong store for Fear Factory ... I would need to go to CD Record, in the Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered artistic Sugarhouse neighborhood. I drove to CD Record, upon entering the hot pink door, I was greeted by a Will (not you Will, the Will from Will and Grace) type fellow. When I queried him on the topic of where I might find Fear Factory, he pointed to the Odds and Ends bin, cleverly on the floor, so one would have to bend over to search the titles. I was pleased to find Fear Factory, hiding between Sonny and Cher, and Mel Tormay. I plugged it in and listened. My take is that Fear Factory is not to bad for Pop music.

And that's really just a cultural difference between Arizona and Utah. Here, Fear Factory is considered to be a folk quartet with minimal Native American undertones. They came to my house once, and asked if I could come out and play. Unfortunately, Jeri answered the door and told them no. She took it a step further and wrote their mothers a letter telling them that they weren't to come by ever again. The letter arrived the same day they went to Sear's Portrait Studio which explains why they don't look happy in their pictures.
While not necessarily a fan, ok not a fan at all of their musical whimsies, Jeri does have a deeply rooted crush on both Burton and Raymond of the musical act.
