China Black Whiskey

A second whiskey blend appeared in my Altadis sampler, this one from Iwan Ries. Hoping for the same, stellar experience I had with the Dutch Masters, I tore into this pouch pretty eagerly. The pouch aroma was completely different. Hmm. Like the Dutch Masters, it's got a pretty simple description:

A mixture of light and dark leaf laced with the flavor of fine Kentucky whiskey. Super taste plus super aroma.

This is a spicier whiskey blend for sure. Definitely enjoyable, and even more pleasant to alternate with the Dutch Masters. A different take on the whiskey blend altogether. This one I believe derives it's spicy nature from the addition of turkish/oriental leaves, which is how I began noticing that I found those leaves to be extremely pleasant on my simple, budding palate.

they must be busy as hell saving lives over at the Red Cross!

I know Kerry's been busy saving lives as well, or rather planning for his trip to Tucson. Maybe Will, now that he's married, is busy practicing babymaking.

No we haven't been making babies, however I have been saving lives. I like the reviews of the tobacco, I have only sampled two more since we last spoke. If Jeri would ever let me come over we could do some serious smoking together. I don't see this happening though because I haven't gotten Jeri a jon at the Red Cross yet, and she told me "no job, no smoking with Joshua"

All I have to say is fuck that.

"....I haven't gotten Jeri a jon at the Red Cross yet..."

Only I get to pimp my wife out.

That Stephanies boyfriend is a creep, I will be in Oro Valley the day they come over.

What have you tried?

Good review of China Black Whiskey. I'm mostly a non aromatic smoker, but this has been consistently an enjoyable baccy.

Thank you. I'm getting further and further from the aromatics as well. Odd, since I remember browsing through the Cornell & Diehl website, wondering who would smoke those "English Blends". Now I wonder who would smoke the Raspberry Chocolate Nougat blends.

This is my first visit to your site, but I adore your takes on tobacco. I keep hearing about this wonderful offering from Tinderbox called Lamplighter, Would you review that for the throngs in your audience?

The Tinderbox here in town doesn't carry Lamplighter, I too have heard very good things about it. I'll have to see if my henchman in Salt Lake can pick up an ounce or two if he happens to be in the area. Then, I will not only pen a review, but will put together a poster presentation as well.

The Tinderbox here in town makes me mad every time I go there.

I've heard that Lamplighter will add a stodgy aroma to my person.
